"Used to" helps us talk about past habits or actions that are no longer happening in the present.
It is formed by used to + verb. Affirmative Form (+) Subject + used to + verb + complement. When I was a child I used to jump the rope. Negative Form (-) Subject + didn't use to + verb + complement I didn't use to swim when I was a child. For the negative form we use the auxiliary didn't. It is very important that you do not add a -d in "use". Interrogative Form (?) Did + Subject + use to + verb + complement? Did you use to ride a bike when you were a child. |
